Wetherspoons swoop on X-rated strip club with the ‘most beautiful girls in the world’

Wetherspoons have submitted an application to open a pub in a raunchy former lap dancing club with the “most beautiful girls in the world”.

Sophisticats in the Soho area of central London boasts “extremely attractive girls”, “the most fabulous dancers” and even “the most beautiful girls in the world” according to glowing Google reviews.

Management describe the X-rated haunt as “London’s premier Gentleman’s club,” and now JD Wetherspoon want in on its former premises.

Designers nineteen47, on behalf of JD Wetherspoon, submitted applications to the council to revamp a ground and basement floor, add new signage and lay on an outdoor seating area.

It is proposed that the pub would be open from 6.30am to midnight from Mondays to Thursdays, 6.30am to 1am on Fridays and Saturdays, and 7.30am to 11pm on Sundays, Ham&High reported.

The kitchen would operate until 11pm each day, and as is the case with many Wetherspoons, it will not play amplified music.

The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), a voluntary organisation that promotes and protects pubs and clubs as social centres, said the new boozer would add something to the community.

Sophisticats won permission last year to stay open despite locals claiming touts pestered people

Joanne Scott, the body’s north London pub protection officer, said: “The pub will act as a valuable resource for the local community. We urge the council to grant planning permission for this proposal.”

Last year, Sophisticats won permission to stay open after locals claimed touts pestered people with offers to see “sexy girls”.

In October the club, run by John McKeown, won a bid to renew its licence for “partial nudity” stripteases on Monday to Saturday from 9am to 3am, and on Sunday from 9am to 11pm.

But some locals objected to the plans, claiming touts had been approaching people on the street and offering them the chance to see “sexy girls”.
