Ambulance flips over in crash with double decker bus on London’s Baker Street as crew scramble to safety

  • Horrific crash took place between Marylebone Road and Baker Street last night
  • Medical equipment was seen strewn across a pavement following the collision

An ambulance overturned following a frightening crash with a double decker bus on one of London‘s busiest streets.

Emergency services rushed to the scene between Marylebone Road and Baker Street at around 11.07pm last night.

No injuries were reported, nor arrests made in connection with the incident, but footage from the scene shows the ambulance having overturned with medical equipment scattered across a nearby pavement.

A witness told BBC London that the ambulance had its blue lights on at the time of the crash.

The ambulance overturned following the impact, with paramedics said to have climbed out the vehicle

The paramedics inside are understood to have been seen climbing out of the wrecked vehicle as horrified members of the public looked on.  

Meanwhile, passengers on the bus were also said to be visibly shaken following the incident. 

The front windows of the bus were seen to have sustained significant damage in the crash.

Police, firefighters and further paramedics attended the scene, with a cordon erected around the road.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: ‘Police were called at 11.07pm on Tuesday, January 31, to a collision involving a bus and ambulance in Baker Street, W1.

‘No injuries were reported and there was no arrests.’

London Ambulance Service has been contacted for comment.
