Man Utd transfer chief has ‘no d***heads’ policy after problem players in dressing room
Manchester United’s recent success in the transfer market is down to two simple words from CEO Richard Arnold – “no d***heads.”
Arnold, who succeeded Ed Woodward as United’s CEO in February 2022, takes a hands-off approach to transfers, leaving it down to director of football John Murtough and boss Erik ten Hag. However, he did offer a couple of words of advice to them as they went about reshaping the squad following the successive reigns of Jose Mourinho, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rang nick.
His only instruction to the pair was not to sign problem players or troublemakers who could upset the harmony of the dressing room at Old Trafford.

In short, Arnold would bluntly tell the pair “no d***heads” when it came to United’s future signings. That’s according to The Telegraph, who added that Arnold played a big role in convincing the Glazers allowing United to spend so much last summer.
Ten Hag brought in the likes of Casemiro, Anthony, Lisandro Martinez and Tyrell Malacia for combined fees of over £220million as he set about making the Red Devils into genuine title contenders once again.

The new recruits have helped United rise up to fourth in the Premier League title, giving them a real chance of a Champions League return. A title tilt was also mooted a number of weeks back, although defeat at Arsenal put pay to that.
Their renaissance has also been due, in part, to the exit of several high profile players who didn’t always pull in the same direction as the rest of the team.
Cristiano Ronaldo departed the club in November following an explosive tell-all interview with Piers Morgan, while Paul Pogba also regarded as a troublemaker by some. He left the club in the summer to rejoin Juventus.
With the 13-time Premier League champions now finally heading on the right path, it seems Arnold’s “no d***heads” might be bearing fruit after all.
