Caddie ‘collapses and has CPR on golf course’ at tournament where Gareth Bale’s playing
A golf caddie received CPR on the fairway at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in California on Friday morning after collapsing at the tournament where Gareth Bale is playing.
A man was stretchered to an ambulance on the 11th fairway with discussions then taking place between tournament officials over how play would resume with players shaken up.
The unnamed caddie part of a group that included Beau Hossler and Max McGreevy as well as amateurs Lukas Nelson and Geoff Couch.

A statement from the PGA Tour read: “During the second round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, there was a medical emergency at No. 11 at Pebble Beach involving an amateur’s caddie. The caddie has been rushed to Montage Health for evaluation.
“At the direction of the PGA TOUR Rules Committee, the players in that group – Max McGreevy and Beau Hossler – paused play during the medical emergency and will be allowed to warm up and resume their round shortly.
“We will provide additional details when available.”

According to ESPN’s Paolo Uggetti, McGreevy said that the group tried to get the bag off the caddie in order to clear the way for CPR to be performed.
The group were just over halfway through their round when the incident took place, with Nelson then offering an update.
Nelson then said that the caddie was “doing better” after receiving the immediate medical attention.

The players then expressed their desire to stop playing, with PGA Tour officials giving them the chance to step aside and take a break.
The competition started on Thursday and features a range of celebrities as well as pro athletes, including former Wales and Real Madrid forward Bale.
Bale shot a seven-under-par alongside partner Joseph Bramlett, with American actors Bill Murray and Jason Bateman also taking part.
