Harry and Meghan ‘will be at coronation’ with plan to avoid ‘total circus’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be invited to King Charles‘ coronation in May despite royal tension, according to insiders.
Sources close to the palace revealed the “working assumption” is that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will attend the ceremony in spite of fears that the couple’s presence could upstage the King’s big day.
“They will definitely be invited, and we are working on the assumption that they will come,” an official involved in planning the coronation told The Sun.

“It would be helpful if they came earlier though so it’s not a total circus on the day.”

The historic ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 6 after Charles ascended the throne in September following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.
Royal fans have so far been left guessing whether or not Harry and Meghan will receive an invitation after the couple blasted their relatives across the pond in a series of tell-all interviews, their debut Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, and Harry’s memoir, Spare, released last month.
It is understood the pair haven’t yet received their official invitation, but multiple sources have claimed that they will in due course.

A source told The Daily Telegraph: “All members of the family will be welcome,” and while Buckingham Palace is maintaining its silence over recent developments regarding the Sussexes, a source said of the king: “He loves both his sons.”
But not everybody thinks the invite is such a good idea as the pair’s mere presence could be enough to overshadow the event.
Royal commentator Daniela Elser previously said: “In the last 12 months we have had two major royal events – the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee four-day celebration and then her funeral in September – both of which Harry and Meghan not only attended but were on their best behaviour.

“And yet, looking back at both of these historic outings and Harry and Meghan’s very presence hovered, blimp-like, over proceedings. Their very presence back behind Palace gates and The Firm’s handling of their return were huge stories.
“The more I think about it, the more I wonder, can Charles win the fight for public and media interest if they go?”
But in spite of the Duke and Duchess’ recent media blitz, Harry has declared he would want to reconcile with his dad at some point in the future – and a peaceful coronation could be the olive branch he’s looking for.

“Forgiveness is 100% a possibility because I would like to get my father back, I would like to have my brother back,” he told ITV prior to his memoir’s release.
“At the moment, I don’t recognise them, as much as they probably don’t recognise me.”
The Daily Star has approached Buckingham Palace for comment.
