Jurgen Klopp told he’s ‘getting sacked in the morning’ as Liverpool mauled 3-0 by Wolves

Wolves fans gleefully sang “you’re getting sacked in the morning” as Jurgen Klopp ’s season went from bad to worse.

Liverpool suffered their seventh loss of the Premier League campaign in emphatic fashion. Julen Lopetegui’s side outclassed the Reds in every single department and helped themselves to three goals in the process.

The only positive for Liverpool is that Aston Villa’s 4-2 defeat to Leicester City meant they did not slip any further down the table. And with the club’s season looking extremely vulnerable, Wolves fans rubbed extra salt into Klopp’s wounds.

From the stands, the thousands of Wolves fans chanted “you’re getting sacked in the morning” while Klopp stared onto the pitch. There have been many periods for the Reds under his reign, particularly the 2020-21 campaign, but there as never been so much jeopardy for the Reds.

Joel Matip’s fifth minute own goal was a very ominous sign of things to come for the Reds. Before Liverpool had even recovered from that early body blow, Craig Dawson, on his debut for Wolves, popped up and doubled the Midlanders’ lead.

Liverpool offered very little on an attacking basis and never really looked capable of overturning the two goal deficit. Any doubt about where the points would be going was emphatically stamped into the ground by Ruben Neves, who slotted in the third goal in clinical fashion.

Liverpool’s struggles don’t show any sign of stopping

Ruben Neves struck the final blow against Liverpool

This time last year, Liverpool were still competing on four fronts, playing devastating, ruthless football. Fast forward to the present day, their League Cup and FA Cup defence has already been put to rest.

Any Premier League aspirations are surely dead in the water, with the club now 21 points behind current table toppers Arsenal. The current top four are also in really good form collectively, meaning the Reds’ only hopes of qualifying for the Champions League could reside in winning the competition.

Unfortunately for Liverpool, they will have to navigate their way past current holders Real Madrid over two legs in the Round of 16. Things could possibly get even worse before they get better.
