Tyson Fury’s energy drink sales rise 300% after John Fury labels Prime ‘grotesque’

Tyson Fury’s new energy drink is flying off the shelves after his dad delivered a scathing verdict on a popular rival product.

Iceland supermarket has boasted a 303% increase in sales of Furocity, which the heavyweight champ launched last year. Shoppers have seemingly rushed to purchase the product following a social media post from John Fury about PRIME, the new sports drink of Logan Paul and KSI.

Fury Snr was filmed spitting out the rival energy drink Prime last week, labelling it “grotesque.” In the post, the father of the Gypsy King said the drink “smelt shocking,” and encouraged fans to buy his son’s product instead: “Furocity is the one you want, at least it tastes right,” he said.

An Iceland spokesperson said: “We’re doing everything we can to keep up with the huge demand we’ve been seeing for Furocity Energy drinks in recent days, following John Fury’s video post.

We would ask shoppers to please remain patient as we work hard to get cans of Furocity Energy back on our shelves.”

It’s not the only Furocity product currently available to shoppers though. Whilst Iceland scrambles for drink stock, Furocity Peppermint Energy Gum is still on the shelves, with two pieces of the gum said to contain the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee.

However, despite the surge, Fury’s words will do well to stem the popularity of Prime, which Dana White has now taken on as the official drink of the UFC. Bottles have also been flying off the shelves for inflated prices, with KSI himself arguing it was “insane” what some customers were paying.

KSI and Logan Paul have launched Prime

To spice up the rivalry, Tyson’s younger brother Tommy will face Logan’s sibling, Jake, on February 26 in Saudi Arabia. The boxing bout will finally settle what has been a prolonged war of words between the two families.

Even two of Tyson’s children have got involved in the feud. Asked what he thinks of Jake Paul, Prince Tyson II replied: “s***.” When the star’s older son Prince John James was asked his views, he said: “I didn’t know who he was until my uncle is fighting him.”

The same country is set to host Fury’s long-awaited unification bout with Oleksandr Usyk. After months of negotiations, the pair are set to fight in the Middle East for the biggest purse in the sport’s history.
