Missing aristocrat and sex-offender boyfriend have been camping in countryside with baby

Police have made an appeal to missing aristocrat Constance Marten to get in touch, following reports she and sex-offender boyfriend Mark Gordon have been camping in the Sussex countryside along with their newborn baby.

The 35-year old, whose wealthy family have links to the royals has lived an isolated life with 48-year old Gordon since the pair met seven years ago.

The trio went missing in early January and have not sought any medical attention since, and as such, the Metropolitan Police Service has offered a £10,000 reward for information regarding their whereabouts as concerns for their safety grow.

So far cops have received around 300 calls, but their search remains fruitless.

An update provided by the Met’s Detective Superintendent Lewis Basford on Sunday (February 5) reads: “While we are very grateful to everyone who has already called, we still need to hear from anyone who has seen the couple since Sunday, 8 January and we are offering a reward of up to £10,000 for any information that leads to the family being found.

“I am appealing in particular to people who may have spent time in the countryside near Newhaven and elsewhere in Sussex to think carefully as to whether they may have seen Constance and Mark over the past four weeks.

“Given the time that’s passed they may have travelled on, so I also need to hear from anyone who may have seen them further afield.”

Addressing the couple directly he added: “Constance and Mark, your baby has spent the first month of its short life exposed to the elements when it should be safe and warm and, most importantly, seen by medics.

“After a month you must be running low on cash. Please pick up the phone and let us know, at the very least, that you are okay. We are ready to come to you and see that you and the baby get medical attention.”

Police say they know the baby was still alive as of January 8 and the priority is now the child’s safety is their priority.

The search for the family began three days prior to that, meanwhile, when officers were called to reports of a burning car on the M61 near Bolton, Greater Manchester.

It later emerged the family had travelled to Liverpool, before making the journey to Essex and on to London and Sussex.

In the capital they bought camping gear and a pram, but soon dumped the buggy on January 7.
