Fans in awe as ex-Chelsea star scores goal with ‘one of the best finishes’ ever

Chelsea fans have been purring over former player Pedro, after he bagged a wonderful goal for Lazio.

The Spaniard won the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the Europa League over the course of five years at Stamford Bridge. After arriving from Barcelona in a £21million deal in 2015, Pedro contributed 43 goals and 28 assists in 206 appearances for the club, including nine goals and ten assists when Chelsea last won the Premier League in 2017.

Pedro departed Chelsea for Roma on a free transfer in the summer of 2021, before swapping the Italian giants for their fierce rivals Lazio. At 35-years-old, the World Cup winner emphatically proved he has still got it with a wonderful goal against Verona.

The ball was flicked into the path of Pedro, who brought the ball down and shuffled the ball away from goal. With his back to the defence and the ball on his weaker left foot, there did not appear to be any route to goal for the winger.

However, like a ballerina, he spun on the head of a pin and curled a sumptuous effort into the far corner. It’s safe to say, Chelsea fans in particular, enjoyed that one.

“Pedro is one of the most underrated footballers,” one audacious Chelsea fan said on social media. “Elite player Pedro had a proper underrated career,” another fan wrote, referencing Pedro’s jaw dropping career at Chelsea and Barcelona.

Meanwhile, some fans have even suggested bringing Pedro back to the club, writing, “the back-lift here is outrageous. Bring back Pedro”, while another added, “he’s over 31 and he’s still a better winger than anyone at Chelsea”.

Pedro has so far racked up three goals and four assists under former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri in the Serie A. Only Raheem Sterling and Kai Havertz have contributed more than the Spaniard.
