BREAKING Nicola Bulley expert diver pulls out of search and admits ‘we can’t find her in river’

The dive expert speaking on missing mum Nicola Bulley’s disappearance says his team will stop looking for her today.

Peter Faulding has kept the media updated on his search of the River Wyre but announced on Wednesday that they will end their search in the water later on February 8.

Nicola Bulley was on a dog walk when she vanished on January 27 near St Michael’s on Wyre, Lancashire.

Faulding who founded Surrey-based Specialist Group International (SGI) told the press on Wednesday: “Wherever she is I hope closure comes soon.

“All the family are clearly distraught”

Nicola’s partner Paul Ansell has made an emotional visit to the riverbank where he spoke with those leading the search, including Faulding whose conclusion this afternoon will have done little to comfort him.

Faulding, who previously said he “can’t get my head around” how police investigations have so far “found nothing”, is believed to have told Mr Ansell “she’s not here”.

SGI has been committed to scouring the River Wyre

The particular stretch of river is non-tidal, meaning the current is unlikely to have been strong enough to carry Nicola too far.

The dive expert has made a number of claims since entering the investigation, as Lancashire Police confirmed they are keeping an “open mind” as investigations continue.

Police have warned members of the public not to “take the law into their own hands” over concerns that people have been breaking into properties to become amateur sleuths.

Further comments from an unnamed friend of the family have seen “attention seeking” armchair detectives slammed as being “cruel and unhelpful” while they hit out psychics having their say on Nicola’s disappearance.

The friend was reported by Daily Star as saying of one psychic: “It has been well documented what she was wearing. I think this is very distressing for friends and family to read.

“Has she taken her information to the police? Is she willing to travel to the area and show the police where these marks are because they have not found anything?

“Other psychics have said she is in the water clinging on to branches. Why are they all seeing differently? They are not all right.”
