Four people rushed to hospital after horror ‘bulldog-like’ animals attack on UK beach

Four people left savaged in a grisly attack on a UK beach have been rushed to hospital after a “bulldog style” dog attacked three women and a man.

Marie Hay and her two daughters had headed to the seafront in Redcar, Yorkshire, to walk their husky on the sands for the first time when they were allegedly set upon.

They claim that a “bulldog style” pair of dogs brutally slashed their pup, who had headed to the beach for the first time, as well as four people who were attacked.

Mum-of-three Marie has since said she was left with a £14,000 vet bill

Mum-of-three Marie had taken the six-year-old Siberian husky named Naevia, six, to the beach for the first time with her two daughters, and has since had to fend off a horrifying attack.

The owner of the pair of attacking dogs is said to have called out that they were “friendly” animals just moments before one of the two dogs “bit” the face of Naevia and “wouldn’t let go”.

Marie described the so-called attack, saying: “The dog came over and sniffed my dog and then done a little scuffle and made a noise and then just jumped on her and bit her face and wouldn’t let go.

“So [the owner] came running over to try and get the dog, but his dogs had no collars or leads on, they didn’t have harnesses or leads, nothing at all. So there was no way of grabbing them to get them off.”

The alleged attack has left the husky needing veterinary treatment, with the mum-of-three now having to deal with a hefty £14,000 medical bill.

A police spokesperson has since commented on the attack, saying: “Police were called to the beach near the caravan park at Redcar just after 3pm on Sunday, 5th February to a report of a dog attack by two bulldog-type pets on a husky.

“Officers attended the scene and took initial details including a counter allegation from the bulldogs’ owner.

“It’s understood at least one dog received veterinary treatment and a man and three women attended hospital for treatment – primarily for hand injuries.”
