Old Trafford ‘could be demolished in £2billion rebuild’ if Qatari group buy Man Utd
Legendary stadium Old Trafford could be knocked down and rebuilt if the Qatar-based investment group are successful in their pursuit of Manchester United.
The Red Devils have been up for sale since the end of November with the Glazer family releasing a statement highlighting their intent to explore “strategic alternatives” for the club. As exclusively revealed by the Daily Star, technology giants Apple were understood to be interested in sealing a £5.8bn deal for the Premier League giants but it is understood that the Qatari group are the frontrunners to complete a takeover.
The investors are plotting a sensational swoop in the coming days and plan to equip Erik ten Hag with a summer war chest, in the hope of claiming a first top-flight title since the 2012/13 season.

According to the Daily Mail, the Glazers are commanding a fee in excess of £6bn for Man Utd while a total redevelopment of Old Trafford would cost more than £2bn.
United are still keen on modernising their stadium and training facilities, the lack of progress made behind the scenes was one of several complaints from Cristiano Ronaldo in his outspoken interview with Piers Morgan.

Champions League rivals Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Manchester City have all strengthened their global appeal through the construction of a new modern stadium, while even Premier League strugglers Everton are proceeding with their Bramley Moore Dock development.
A full redevelopment of White Hart Lane saw Spurs play almost two seasons outside of north London and a full rebuild would surely mean Man Utd would have to find a temporary home for a similar period.
The Qatari investment group, separate from the Qatar Sports Investments’ ownership of PSG, are expected to bid for Man Utd in the coming days. Under UEFA regulations one entity cannot own two clubs in the same competition and the Red Devils and PSG are regular members of the Champions League.
