UK snow maps show ‘1,000km Beast from the East 2’ coming as Met Office issue warning
Weather modelling maps for the latter stages of this month show a second ‘Beast from the East’ coming to blast the UK with snow for three consecutive days this month.
The concerning data comes after the Met Office were forced to issue a yellow-level weather warning for snow and ice in some parts of the UK today (Wednesday, February 8).
January saw six inches of snow in some regions as temperatures plummeted right down to -10C.

According to WX Charts, Arctic conditions could return in a matter of days.

Their maps show a huge storm moving in from the east, making landfall around midday on Monday, February 20, and bringing heavy rain to Northern Ireland, southern parts of Scotland and most of England.
There will also be some snow in the Scottish highlands on Monday, which looks to spread across almost all of the UK on Tuesday (February 21).

WX Charts’ maps show flurries covering Northern Ireland, most of Wales and Scotland as well as the south-east, north and the Midlands by midday – spanning a total distance of around 1,000km.
Snowfall looks to be heaviest in Wales, the south-east and Northern Ireland with the white stuff falling at a rate of at least 3cm per hour (shown on the maps by areas of light purple inside dark purple).

As Tuesday progresses, some snow looks to drift eastward covering East Anglia and Yorkshire, with flurries persisting elsewhere too.
The west coast of Scotland will be barraged by persistent snow throughout the day, WX Charts predict.
Into Wednesday (February 22), and the maps show the stretched groups of snow clumping together, with large swathes of northern England and Scotland in for their third dumping in three days.

Parts of the Highlands look set to see snow falling at a rate of around 5cm per hour, whereas in England 2cm per hour flurries are forecast.
Some parts of the country won’t have to wait that long for snow, according to the Met Office.
They issued a yellow-level weather warning for snow and ice in place from 4pm today until 9am tomorrow.
It covers a large chunk of central and northern Scotland including Inverness and Fort William.

The Met Office have told people in the region to expect: “Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
“Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths.
“Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.”
