Cristiano Ronaldo bags 500th league goal for Al Nassr as fans say he’s still got it

Cristiano Ronaldo left fans insisting ‘he’s still got it’ after scoring the 500th league goal of his career with Al Nassr.

Ronaldo latched onto a defence-splitting pass from Al Nassr team-mate Abdulrahman Ghareeb, and then shifted the ball from his right to left foot whilst turning and rifling his effort into the bottom corner past the helpless Al-Wehda keeper, before unleashing his infamous ‘Siuuu’ celebration with a huge grin. The 38-year-old’s sublime effort was reminiscent of the forward in his prime and impressed fans proclaimed the strike shows he can still deliver the goods on Twitter.

One fan enthused: “Ronaldo’s still got it what a goal.” A second impressed user mused: “Great finish, instinctive, didn’t even look up to see where the goal was.” Then a third supporter commended the finish by adding: “Nice goal for the position he was in.”

It was the second goal Ronaldo’s managed to score since his highly controversial switch to Saudi Arabia in January. And he followed that effort up with three more as the Portuguese helped Al Nassr to a comfortable victory on Thursday night.

Ronaldo has had a tough time finding his groove at Al Nassr, and a series of poor performances have led fans to label him a ‘finished fraud.‘ The ridicule aimed at Ronaldo came after he was powerless to prevent Al Nassr from crashing out of the Saudi Super Cup semi-finals against Al-Ittihad.

But fans at the club will be hoping his latest effort earmarks the beginning of a goal fest from the £173million striker. His other 498 league goals were scored in Europe before he scurried off to the Middle East after falling foul of new Man United boss Erik ten Hag.

He then broke into his notorious ‘Siuuu’ celebration after hitting the net

Ronaldo scored 103 Premier League goals for United across two spells, 311 La Liga goals for Real Madrid, 81 Serie Agoals for Juventus, and three during his time at Sporting Lisbon in Liga Portugal. He’ll be able to reflect on his latest achievement in the stunning home he’s residing in during his stint in Saudi Arabia which consists of 17 rooms and costs a whopping £250,000 per month to rent.
