Marcus Rashford ‘fined and slapped with six points on licence’ after being caught speeding

Marcus Rashford has been slapped with a fine and six points after admitting to speeding.

The Manchester United forward has been racking up goals at lightning pace in recent weeks. Unfortunately, it appears that speed has also been present in his driving.

The England international was believed to be behind the wheel of his Mercedes G VRM when it was caught exceeding the speed limit in Manchester City centre by around 20mph in May last year. While the fine would not have even dented his wages, his heavy foot on the accelerator has still cost him.

Rashford admitted to speeding in Manchester Magistrates Court and was subsequently fined £574. He was clocked surpassing the speed limit in May last year, but his punishment has only just come through.

The 25-year-old has also been handed six points on his licence as a result of the incident. Various reports have indicated Rashford has sold the car he was caught speeding in.

While the England international bought the flash motor for around £670,000, he reportedly sold the vehicle for barely half the money he paid for it.

Rashford scored his 11th Premier League goal of the season

However, he is not running out of cars to drive as he also recently purchased a McLaren 765 for around £280,000 and a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan Rolls Royce. Fortunately for Rashford, he is not incurring any penalties on the pitch.

He netted his 11th Premier League goal of the season in United’s 2-2 home draw against Leeds United. Erik ten Hag’s side are currently residing in third position, but will drop back down to 4th if Newcastle United win their game in hand.

United face Leeds again in their next match, before travelling to the Nou Camp to face Barcelona in the first leg of the Europa League match. If United are to turn the Catalans over in their own backyard, they will need to ensure Rashford is able to fly through the gears on the pitch.
