“If there are any, their movements will be accounted for as well as any similar cases being looked at again with this disappearance in mind.

“There will be an intelligence unit scouring all of this.”

Although police announced they will be working under the assumption that Nicola fell into the river, it is believed that it is standard protocol is to investigate all those in the area at the time.

Police sent in a specialist team to search the nearby river where Nicola was walking, but found nothing

Over the past two weeks since Nicola went missing, police have made several appeals for CCTV footage to locate individuals on that morning.

All people sighted have reportedly been located.

The next step is to typically investigate those in the area who have a criminal history, including sex offenders.

Nicola, 45, disappeared on January 27 May as she walked her springer spaniel Willow along St Michael’s on Wyre in Lancs.

She left behind her phone which was still connected to a work call as well as her dog’s lead and harness which was found on a bench on the river bank.

Police are continuing to search St Michael’s on Wyre in Lancs in hopes of finding Nicola

The location of the items prompted police to send in a specialist team of divers to search the river. However, they were unable to find Nicola.

They have since extended their search to the sea where the mouth of the River Wyre connects.

However, speaking to Channel 5, Nicola’s partner Paul Ansell said he was ‘100% convinced her body is not in the river’.

Today marks the 15th day of her disappearance.
