Prince Harry and Meghan are on the King’s coronation list as ‘planning is well underway’

It appears that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been confirmed for the King’s coronation and “planning is well underway”, according to sources.

Insiders from Whitehall have revealed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are to be invited and are on the list for the event in May of this year.

King Charles has been reported to have desperately wanted his youngest son at the event even after the publication of Harry’s memoir, Spare, and the ongoing feud with Prince William.

The King of England is doing his best to get his sons together at the event, with a Whitehall source saying that it will be ran “as smooth as possible”, Express reported.

The King appears to have taken a first step toward his coronation wishes

That source said: “They’re on the list and planning is well underway to make sure the proceedings run as smooth as possible – without any drama.”

Royal experts have also commented on the event and have noted that this is the first step on a “road to reconciliation” for the family.

Expert Afua Hagan said: “Attending the coronation is the first step on the road to reconciliation.”

Whether Harry and Meghan feature all that much in the event themselves is another question entirely, and it was answered by royal historian Cindy McCreery.

It is unknown whether Meghan and Harry will attend the coronation in May

They believe that although the Sussex duo will be present at the event, much of the focus will be on the “vertical line of ascension.”

Historian McCreery added: “Precedence will be given to William, Kate, George and his siblings.”

Precedence or not, Daily Star reported that King Charles was desperately keen to have his son Harry at the event, reportedly enlisting the help of the Archbishop of Canterbury to mediate the warring brothers.

Expert Daniela Elser had previously called Charles’ hopes of bringing the brothers together at the event as “rife with problems”, but it would appear a first move has been made.
