A man has been arrested in connection with a burglary that saw £600-worth of Prime drinks, vapes and e-cigarettes stolen.

Police were called to Battle High Street in East Sussex on Tuesday, following reports of a break-in occurring two days before at a local business.

Prime drinks, vapes and Mary’s Elf Bar E-cigarettes worth around £600 combined were thought to have been stolen during the incident that happened shortly before 9pm on February 5.

Officers have since arrested a 34-year-old man from Battle on suspicion of burglary other than dwelling with intent to steal.

Inspector Olivia Carroll, of Sussex Police, said: ‘We are well aware of the serious emotional and financial impact business crime has on our communities, and we are committed to catching those responsible for thefts and burglaries at our local businesses.

‘Our investigation into this burglary was launched as soon as the report was received and, with the support of the victims, we’ve been able to complete numerous enquiries that have resulted in this arrest being made.

‘I would like to reassure business owners and staff, as well as the wider community, that we will take positive and robust action in response to crimes of this nature.

‘We also continue to work with partner agencies to minimise the opportunities that offenders have to commit crimes.’

Prime Energy, created by YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul, was a viral sensation last December when frenzied fans were seen tussling in Aldi stores to get their hands on it.

As the £1.99 sports drink was only available for a limited time, shoppers would queue outside from as early as 5am to buy one.

Demand was so high that customers were limited to one flavour per person.
