Tottenham fans ‘off the Conte wagon’ in calls for boss to leave after Leicester loss

Tottenham fans are “off the Antonio Conte wagon” after suffering a 4-1 drubbing against Leicester City.

Spurs might have expected a straightforward afternoon at the King Power when they went ahead courtesy of Rodrigo Bentancur 14 minutes into Saturday’s Premier League clash.

But Leicester came back just minutes later by firing in two goals in quick succession. And from then on, Brendan Rodgers was able to outfox opposition manager Conte, with the home side clinching a monumental 4-1 victory.

It was more of the same for Tottenham, who hoped to have turned a corner after their 1-0 win over Manchester City last week.

Their eighth defeat of the season now leaves them in fifth place, behind Newcastle, Manchester United, City and rivals Arsenal. And some of their supporters had enough as they took to social media to voice disapproval towards their head coach Conte.

“Changes coming too late once again. I’m officially off the Conte wagon, get him and his terrible game management TF outta here,” one fan tweeted.

Antonio Conte was blamed for his substitutions against Leicester

Another wrote: “Overrated £15m a year fraud of a manager…should’ve been sacked before the world cup now we are sc**wed.”

A third added: “3-1 down and he brings in two defenders. Says it all. Conte Out,” while another commented: “I’ve lost my patience with Conte. Bring back [Mauricio] Pochettino.”

Spurs have been beaten eight times already this season

The Italian’s contract expires at the end of the season, with reports suggesting he will leave the north London side a year-and-a-half after taking over from Nuno Espirito Santo.

Conte has cut a frustrated figure since his first season in charge of Spurs, having questioned the quality of his players publicly on several occasions.
