Roy Keane hugs Will Ferrell before Leeds vs Man Utd and says he’s on ‘scouting trip’

Manchester United legend Roy Keane embraced Hollywood star Will Ferrell ahead of United’s trip to Leeds on Sunday.

The hard-faced Irishman cracked his tough persona to say hello to actor Will Ferrell as he made an effort to enjoy some Premier League action after he was spotted taking in some National League footbal as Wrexham beat Wealdstone 3-1 on Saturday.

Speaking to the Sky Sports panel at the Etihad, the LAFC owner revealed how he knew Keane: “Roy and I had the pleasure of playing in Soccer Aid.”

When he was asked why he’d made the trip to the UK, he replied: “I’m on a recruiting trip for LAFC, I’m seeing if [Man City] measure up to the MLS. I don’t really have a side over here, I just enjoy following all the storylines, it’s obviously a very good league.”

Wrexham were gearing up to face Wealdstone on Saturday afternoon, and ahead of the match, movie bigshot Ferrell was seen casually sharing a drink with the club’s faithful at the Turf Pub. The A-lister looked right at home as he ditched the glamour of Hollywood to rub shoulders with Wrexham’s supporters in the drinking establishment.
