- Patricia Field said John F. Kennedy Junior and Daryl Hannah visited her store
- She said JFK Jr. grew angry when staff pair Hannah attention and not him
- Her recollections came in her upcoming memoir, Pat in the City, out this week
Famed New York City costume designer Patricia Field claimed she once threw John F. Kennedy Junior out of her Manhattan boutique after he berated transgender staff members for paying more attention to his then-girlfriend, actress Daryl Hannah, than him.
In her new memoir, Pat in the City: My Life of Fashion, Style and Breaking All the Rules, Field recalled how JFK Jr. and Hannah stopped into her downtown storefront, which was always famous for hiring transgender employees.
Field wrote that the ‘girls in the shop went gaga over’ Hannah because she’d played a mermaid in the 1984 movie Splash.
‘Drag queens love a good mermaid,’ she wrote, according to Page Six.
But as the staffers began fawning over the actress, she wrote that JFK Jr. was not pleased by the lack of attention he was receiving.

Field noted the staff members were ‘making a fuss’ over Hannah, causing JFK to grow angry.
‘He looked around and announced, ‘Bunch of freaks,” she wrote, according to Page Six.
‘If JFK Jr. was looking for attention with his comment, he got his wish. All the queens at the shop were more than capable of dismissing anyone who acted up.’
‘If you don’t like it here, get the f**k out,’ Field wrote an employee named Codie said.
‘There was no room for interpretation,’ she wrote. ‘He went to wait outside while his girlfriend got the royal treatment.’

JFK Jr. and Hannah would date off and on for years before he married Caroyln Bessette in 1996. They later died in a plane crash.
Hannah went on to marry rock-legend Neil Young.
Field did the costume design for for iconic New York City shows and movies like Sex and The City and The Devil Wears Prada. Her recent work has included the show Emily in Paris.
Her memoir will be published on February 14.
