Rita Ora gives intimate glimpse at life with husband Taika Waititi

Rita Ora shared a cute video of herself scaring husband Taika Waititi to mark Valentine’s Day on Tuesday.

The singer, 32, took to Instagram to share a montage of her creeping up on her partner, with the film director, 47, appearing to jump out of his skin each time.

She captioned her post: ‘Love is scary. Happy Valentine’s Day to all the tormentors and tormentees out there.’

The clip opened with the pop star scaring Taika as he walked into a room holding a glass of water, with the filmmaker jumping out of the way with his leg in the air as he carefully tried not to spill his drink.

In the next scene, the couple could be seen sitting on a private jet as he delicately removed her long fake eyelashes, with Rita exclaiming ‘the truth,’ as her natural look was unveiled.

After Rita was seen frightening Taika in a variety of other situations, she could be seen playing with his lips in one amusing moment.

With Rita having scared Taika again, the clip moved on to show the pair once again on the private jet, with Rita applying her eyelashes to her partner’s eyes, making him look extra glamorous.

Rita finally confirmed last month she had tied the knot with beau Taika, describing the nuptials as ‘perfect’ and a ‘special day’.

The songstress was speaking on Heart Radio’s breakfast show to promote her latest single You Only Love Me shortly after posing topless to celebrate the release.

She said: ‘Yes [I am married]. I am officially off the market people. I chose to keep it more private and keep it to myself more but with my new video I am playing on what could have been.

‘When the rumours came out is she, isn’t she? I wanted to play on it. I wanted to do a wedding that didn’t go to plan… that’s not to say that is actually what happened.’

Gushing about the big day Rita said: ‘It was perfect. It was exactly, exactly how I wanted.

‘It was nice and perfect. It is nice to keep some things just to myself sometimes it was nice and sweet… Sorry it’s not that interesting. One day I will throw a big party.’

Speaking about the possible name change she admitted: ‘I have definitely thought about taking his surname but I have worked very hard for this Ora name. I don’t know… I haven’t really decided yet.’

Earlier this month, Rita proudly showed off her rings as she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in New York City on Wednesday night.

The star flashed her dazzling emerald engagement ring and delicate gold wedding band after admitting she picked it out herself.

Speaking to host Jimmy, 48, she revealed: ‘It’s my first time showing my ring – I feel like you’re part of my relationship because we watch you every night – is that creepy?’

Asked if she had a hand in choosing the dazzling gem, Rita confessed: ‘I may have guided him in the right direction…’

She explained: ‘It’s when you know what you want! I knew I wanted to be with him and you want it to be really right so I may have taken him to the shop and pointed out exactly what ring I wanted!’

Rita married director Taika Waititi in an intimate ceremony in London in August last year after getting engaged two months earlier in June.

The hitmaker and Taika started dating in March 2021, before going public with their romance that August.  

A source told The Sun: ‘It was a really intimate ceremony and super special for everyone there. Their nearest and dearest can see how madly in love they are.

‘Despite living in the spotlight, Rita is determined to keep the relationship as private as possible and didn’t want to make a big song and dance about the wedding.’

The couple began dating in March 2021 after meeting in Australia.  

Taika was previously married to film producer Chelsea Winstanley, but the pair are believed to have quietly split in 2018.

The pair share two daughters: Te Hinekāhu, ten, and Matewa Kiritapu, six.
