Kevin De Bruyne trolls Arsenal fans on Instagram after having beers chucked at him

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne took to social media to laugh at Arsenal fans who threw cups of beer at him.

The midfield maestro opened the scoring for the reigning Premier League champions before sliding the ball into Erling Haaland’s feet for the crucial third goal. Pep Guardiola’s side leapfrogged Mikel Arteta’s team into first position, breathing new life into their hopes of a third consecutive Premier League title.

The frustration and pressure of the title race certainly appeared to be getting to many sections of the Arsenal fan base, as De Bruyne had to duck out the way of some flying cups of beer. Yet, the former Chelsea midfielder was evidently not content with the goal, the decisive assist, or the three points, as he wanted to poke fun at many of the Gunners fans as well.

De Bruyne uploaded two pictures of himself ducking out of the beer on his Instagram story following the crucial victory.

The first photo was accompanied with the caption “beer anyone” and the following story was an ice cool photo of him dodging a cup, partnered with the caption “Thanks!”

De Bruyne responded in the best possible way

While his former assistant manager will be wondering how the Gunners have let an eight point lead slip in just three matches, Guardiola was pleased as punch with the win. Though Arsenal will re-take their place at the top of the Premier League if they win their game in hand on the Citizens.

However, considering they have taken only one point from their last three matches, it may be fair to say City are now the favourites to retain their crown. Yet, Guardiola’s happiness about the points did not quite extend into his own tactical contribution into the contest.

We imagine De Bruyne enjoyed a beer after the match

“My tactics because I decided something new and it was horrible,” Guardiola admitted after the match. “Second half was more like we are.

“[In the first half] we let them play the build-up, our shape, we let them play. When you let them play with Jorginho, Granit Xhaka, Alex Zinchenko, they found the players in behind, Odegaard, the runners outside up top.

“In the second half we adjusted and it was good, go in more aggressive to Odegaard and we controlled more of the ball, we played more, we played more, and Erling helped us a lot because we had to use more long balls and used his power to keep the ball. In the first half they had one more man in the middle, it was hard to control it and that’s why we suffered, but in the second half we were there.”
