Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 41, trains with son, 16, and proves ‘football runs in their blood’

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has left football fans stunned after training with his son for AC Milan.

The legendary striker, 41, took part in a session alongside his eldest son Maximilian, 16, on Wednesday (February 15). He joined him and the rest of the under-18s side in a mini-game against first teammers who hadn’t lined up against Tottenham in the Champions League the day before.

Ibra was reportedly switched teams by manager Stefano Pioli so he could play on the same side as Maximilian, who started out on the left wing next to his dad.

A short compilation from the match was shared on his social media accounts. Maximilian was seen shaking hands with Piolo before getting in amongst the action, which saw him run through on goal before a tackle by defender Matteo Gabbia.

In the next clip Zlatan played in his offspring for a shot which was blocked. And, naturally, the footage ended with him showing how it’s done as he rifled the ball into the back of the net.

Where does Ibra rank amongst the best strikers of all-time? Let us know in the comments section.

The video was lapped up by fans online with one tweeting: “Football runs in the blood!” Another joked: “His son will definitely retire before him.”

One asked: “Anybody feeling old yet?” And one pleaded: “Pioli gotta get them in a game together.”

“Coolest thing I’ve seen today,” argued one, while another said: “I hope he has even half his dad’s footballing ability. That would still make him better than a lot of players today.”

Maximilian moved to Milan from the Hammarby youth set-up in his native Sweden last summer. Zlatan’s younger son Vincent, 14, also followed suit.

Ibra, meanwhile, has been out of action since then having had knee surgery. He only returned to training just last week following a holiday to Florida over New Year’s.
