Brits in hysterics as American tries to pronounce Worcestershire sauce

Brits were left howling with laughter after an American filmed themselves struggling to pronounce a staple sauce, found in kitchens across the country.

A US-based foodie, who posts online under the username @breeeanaaaa, realised they had been mispronouncing ‘Worcestershire sauce’ after sharing a hilarious clip online.

The treat for the taste buds is clearly quite hard to wrap your tongue around when you’re from across the pond.

In one popular TikTok shared by @shabazsays, the content creator records himself reacting to the viral video, which features an audio clip of a person trying to pronounce the product name correctly.

They were seen holding up a bottle of the good stuff – but their pronunciation with “roy-sister-sheree-sauce”.

“I beg your pardon. Who is sister Sheree?” he joked, before asking: “What on God’s green earth is Roy sister Sheree sauce?”

In response to the video, which has racked up over a million likes, commenters shared their delight.

“It’s the best butchering of the word I’ve ever heard,” read one reply.

A second person said: “Can we be honest though…this is THE BEST pronunciation so far in life.”

Another replied: “I just barely started calling it wash your sister sauce, and now my whole life has changed.”

A fourth wrote: “I live in Worcester and have heard Worcestershire Sauce pronounced so many different ways but this is the absolute best.”

The news comes after an American who lives in the UK was left confused as to why some Brits have ‘fake’ windows.

The confusion occurred when they looked up and realised that the bricks and mortar lacked any glass in the windows and instead were completely covered up.
