Dad of woman who cut out bloke’s intestines says ‘it’s not the end of the world’

The dad of a woman who tried to kill a man by cutting his intestines out says he told her that prison is “not the end of the world”.

Jon Hamblin and Jessica Whinham, of North Shields subjected Paul Binks to the attack in his sleep, but woke up to find his intestines sprawled everywhere while he was being strangled with a phone charger.

He was then put in a bath and told they were going to drown him during the strange attack that went to court last April, ChronicleLive reports.

Having successfully pleaded for his life, he was taken to hospital after getting help at a nearby couple’s home and survived the heinous attack.

Jessica’s dad has said he’ll ‘be there’ when she gets out

Hamblin and Whinham claim that the motive for the attacks was Mr Binks telling Hamblin how porn model Whinham was a “grass”, and warned him to be careful.

He was allegedly told by a drug dealer: “(she) was a grass and had got lads in trouble in the past for things that were not substantiated.”

Recalling what happened, he said: “I said ‘what’s going on, why am I on the floor’. Jon said ‘you’ve been f****** stabbed’.

“I was confused. I said ‘who’s stabbed me like’ and he said ‘f****** me, I’ve cut your f****** heart out, you are going to die.’

“I looked down and pulled my top up and there was a tube, my intestine.

Jon Hamblin was jailed for 28 years

“I was trying to push it back in. I remember him trying to go for my throat and I put my hand up.

“He was standing over me with a knife, I couldn’t understand.”

However, the dad of Jessica Whinham has now spoken about his daughter, who is serving a 21-year sentence for attempted murder.

Speaking to Chronicle Live, Paul Whinham, 72, said: “I 100% think she was groomed.

“At the end of the day, the advice I give to Jessica is it’s not the end of the world, you are a young girl.

“Since I have been visiting her she’s been clean. I visit her once a fortnight, and it’s really nice for us to be together.”

“I have said to Jessica: ‘It’s a bad situation you are in, but make it better for yourself.

“She’s as clean as a whistle and it looks like I have got my daughter back.

“We are here and will be here for her whenever she gets out.”
