Jake Paul vows to send Tommy Fury ‘back to Love Island’ in social media swipe
Jake Paul has promised to send reality TV star Tommy Fury “back to Love Island” when the pair finally clash in Saudi Arabia this month.
After nigh-on two years of verbal feuds and social media spats, the pair will clash in Diriyah on February 26. It will be a case of third time lucky, with Fury twice withdrawing from previous bouts, citing injury and illness and then a travel ban to the US.
Both stars remain unbeaten in pro-boxing, but have also sourced fame elsewhere. Paul became an internet sensation via his YouTube work whilst Fury, the younger brother of heavyweight champion Tyson, finished as runner-up in the 2019 series of the show alongside girlfriend Molly-May Hague.

And now Paul, who has been promised a spot in the WBC rankings if he topples the Englishman, has vowed to leave his rival to pine for reality TV again. Quote tweeting a promotional poster for the fight, he wrote: “Ten days until Tommy goes back to Love Island.”
Fury, 23, is one of the ITV show’s success stories, with him and Hague celebrating the birth of new baby daughter Bambi last month. But mother and child have been left back at home with Fury now out in the Middle East for a fight where he knows defeat could ruin his boxing career.

Both Tyson and dad John have warned him that he will be disowned by the Fury family if he can’t beat the American. And Paul has reacted by goading his opponent, who he regularly dubs ‘Tommy Fumbles’.
Earlier this week, he tweeted: “Tommy Fury is going to have to change his last name to Mae in 14 days.” The Manchester man has himself admitted he doesn’t have a future in the sport if the can’t beat Paul, 26.

But despite the mass hype around the fight, which became frenzied after they clashed when Paul was ringside at Fury’s last bout in Dubai in November, fans have been left seething at the cost. BT Sport is charging £19.95 for the pay-per-view affair, despite the relative inexperience of both men.
Indeed, Paul’s six wins have come against a mixture of former MMA fighters, fellow YouTubers, and a basketball star. The clash with Fury will represent his first with an actual full-time boxer.
