Lionel Messi ‘returns’ to Barcelona with stunning wife and fans all make same plea

Lionel Messi returned to Barcelona this week alongside stunning wife Antonela Roccuzzo – with fans begging for his return to La Liga as his PSG contract runs down.

The World Cup winning forward hit the town with former team-mates Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba and other pals on a trip to the Catalan capital after scoring a winning goal against Lille.

The 35-year-old’s two year contract in Ligue 1 comes to an end this summer – and with Barcelona boss Xavi saying it’s up the player, fans want an answer following his trip.

Lionel Messi didn’t rule out a return to Barcelona when leaving the club in 2021

Xavi had told the Hindustan Times: “Why not? (about a possible return for Messi) I think it depends on him.

“What he wants, what he feels. Of course, Barcelona is always Messi’s home. Doors will be opened for Leo, especially if I’m the coach here. Let’s see what he wants to do. The decision depends on Messi more than the club.”

Messi has hinted in the past that he would like to play domestic football in the United States, having also been open about never wanting to again live in Barcelona.

With the club now on steadier footing and eight points clear of rivals Real Madrid at the top of La Liga, Messi could now be tempted by a return to Catalonia.

Following a tricky start to life in France, Messi is now front and centre of their title charge with his 95th minute winner his 21st goal contribution in the league this season.
