Conor McGregor threatens to ‘starve and kill’ British UFC heavyweight in stunning rant

Conor McGregor has launched an explosive rant at Tom Aspinall, threatening to ‘starve and kill’ the British UFC star.

Aspinall said in a recent interview that he had ‘little interest’ in McGregor’s proposed return to the ring after a two-year absence due to injury.

The Irishman, who remains arguably the biggest name in UFC, will work as a coach for reality TV show Ultimate Fighter against Michael Chandler, before the pair face off later this year.

British heavyweight Aspinall is not particularly bothered about his return though, telling Jamal Niaz: “For me, there’s way more exciting fights out there than that. There’s another 20 fights I am more interested in. Will I watch it? Yeah, but if it gets cancelled, I won’t be upset about it.”

McGregor, who lost both of his last two fights to Dustin Poirier, snapped back in an expletive-laden Twitter post that he has since deleted.

The former champion wrote: “Bum p****. Say sayonara to that GK [Gym King] deal kid. Starve you and kill you, I will you f***ing disrespectful p****.

Don’t ever speak my name in disrespect again. Mush potato head.” McGregor went on to tell Aspinall to “keep your comments to yourself.”

Tom Aspinall is not convinced by McGregor’s return

The 34-year-old began filming for Ultimate Fighter in Las Vegas last week, having previously appeared on the show back in 2015. Despite his coaching role, the big draw will be his proposed return to the sport after a lengthy absence.

McGregor must undergo six months of drug testing before he is allowed to fight again, meaning September would likely be the earliest date the bout could go ahead.

A win over Chandler could put McGregor on a collision course to fight UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, with the Brit open to the idea of taking on The Notorious.

“If Conor comes back and gets a good win at welterweight, then it’s a fight I’d more than welcome. It would be a massive fight for Europe, a massive fight for everyone,” Edwards recently told talkSPORT.

“Let him come back, get a good win at welterweight and then we can talk from there.”
