Birmingham fan forced to wear Aston Villa kit for stag – with hilarious name on the back

A Birmingham City fan has been forced to wear an Aston Villa kit for his stag do with a hilarious name on the back.

Footage of the Blues supporter putting the shirt on in front of his hysteric mates has gone viral on social media, with the fan seen shaking his head as he shows off the retro Villa top. The video shows the party on the train as they headed to Slovenia on Thursday for the stag do before the stag turns around to show the name and number printed on the back of the shirt.

The Villa kit came complete with a pun on the name of former striker Gabriel Agbonlahor as it reads: “Stagbonlahor 69”.

Shortly after being posted to Twitter, the clip went viral as fans of other clubs reacted to the Birmingham supporter’s turmoil. One fan joked: “Outstanding patter.”

Another wrote: “People saying the “69” is childish is fair enough but “Stagbonlahor” is a lovely bit of work tbh fair play.” A third also commented: “Stagbonlahor is funny tbf.”

Others were adamant that they would not have done the same if handed the shirt of their fierce rivals, with one adding: “If he was a fan he’d have refused.”

As well as having to wear the Villa shirt, the fan also had to put up with the name on the back, a play on the name of ex-forward Agbonlahor.

Agbonlahor came through the academy at Villa Park before spending 13 years in the first-team up until he announced his retirement from professional football in 2018.

During that time, he scored 86 goals in 391 appearances for Villa, including five goals in 10 matches against Birmingham. In addition, Agbonlahor was on the losing side in the Second City Derby just once in his career.

Since hanging up his boots five years ago, the 36-year-old has transitioned into a career as a pundit, most notably sharing his outspoken views on Talksport.
