Movie star Chris Pratt says Tiger Woods called him ‘motherf***er’ in ‘best story of life’

Hollywood superstar Chris Pratt was called a ‘motherf*****’ by Tiger Woods in what was the actor’s ‘best story of his life’.

Jurassic World star Pratt is a staple in the Genesis Open Celebrity Cup that Woods began in 2019, along with other athletes and entertainers. And the A-list actor detailed the part Woods played in the best story of his life at the tournament held in the Riviera Country Club in Southern California.

Pratt explained in a conversation with golf legend Nick Faldo how his epic encounter with Woods went down. He revealed that he was wearing glasses and using a yellow ball as he has bad eyesight, when he first featured in the competition.

Woods noticed the bright ball when they bumped into each other on the 10th tee, leading Pratt to explain how his bad eyesight meant he wouldn’t be able to see the ball if it was white, past 300 yards. And that the yellow ball would allow him to find it in the bushes, in a ‘self deprecating’ joke, which he made due to his “instinct as an actor and comedic person.”

He said to Faldo: “It must have been the first one I played at because I was really nervous. I was out on the range early and just driving the ball and it was just going everywhere.

“And periodically, you’ll see me wearing these glasses, I’m kind of blind, so I was playing with a bright yellow ball and my idea was that I’ll be able to see it. So anyway, they say ‘Mr Pratt, your tee time is up’ so I go up onto the 10th tee — and there’s Tiger Woods.

Woods aimed the cheeky dig at Pratt when they met on the golf course

“He looks at me and goes ‘yellow ball huh?’ I was like ‘oh god’. My instinct as an actor and comedic person is to self-deprecate and the line that came to my head was ‘it’s going to be a lot easier to find in the bushes after I hit it’. So instead I said ‘I don’t have great eyes so if it’s a white ball, I can’t see it past 300-yards’.”

Woods was satisfied with Pratt’s explanation, but when he hit one of his best shots as an 18 handicap, it prompted the impressed golf legend to hilariously call out the movie icon for ‘sandbagging’, which is where someone ‘lowers expectations to give better than anticipated results.’ But Pratt didn’t mind as he described his interaction with Woods as the best he’s had in life.

“I was an 18-handicap at the time and I line up and sure enough it just happens to be one of the best, most pure drives of my life. I striped it right down the middle and held the pose in front of everybody and Tiger goes ‘18-handicap? Sandbagging motherf***er’. Oh my god, it’s the best story of my life.”
