Piers Morgan blasts ‘VAR having another stormer’ after Arsenal denied goal and penalty

Arsenal megafan Piers Morgan has fumed at VAR on Twitter, after the Gunners saw their strike chalked off by VAR and then denied a penalty.

Danny Ward was well beaten in the Leicester goal when Leandro Trossard lashed the ball home from the edge of the area. However, celebrations were cut short, when VAR intervened, advising the referee to have a second look at the monitor.

It was deemed Ben White had been holding Ward’s arm during the corner itself, leading Craig Pawson to disallow the goal. Morgan tweeted: “Two ridiculous decisions to disallow a great goal and not give a blatant penalty. VAR having another stormer.”

One rival fan responded: “How convenient? If it works for you, you’d probably say VAR is the best and since it is against you cry!”

“Didn’t tweet about VAR last week though when it went in your favour,” a second replied. And a third tweeted: “Just complaining for the sake of complaining at this point. Nothing wrong with either of the decisions!”

And a fourth responded: “Holding the goalkeeper’s arm is now a ridiculous decision, Arsenal fans kill me!”
