Three teen boys stabbed in horror street attack outside railway station and arrest made

Three teenage boys have been stabbed in a horror attack outside a railway station.

The boys, aged 15, 16 and 17, were rushed to hospital following the triple stabbing near Romford Station in east London.

They were all found with with stab wounds on South Street in the town centre this evening, with police and paramedics rushing to the scene.

A fourth person, a male whose age has not been made public, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray and remains in police custody.

A police cordon is in place at the junction of South Street and Western Road as enquiries into the circumstances of the stabbings are ongoing.

A Section 60 order, which allows police additional stop and search powers, is in place in the area until 3am on Tuesday (February 28), reports My London.

Enquiries are ongoing and a crime scene is still in place. Images shared online show a whole section of road cordoned off and a number of police vehicles.

Earlier this month, Patrick Green, Chief Executive of anti-knife crime charity the Ben Kinsella Trust, cited the effects of the Covid pandemic as a reason for knife crime rising faster amongst teenagers than any other age group.

He said: “As we emerged from Covid restrictions and those restrictions were lifted, we were seeing more evidence of young people made more vulnerable by Covid.

“Gangs are particularly good at picking up on vulnerabilities, are quick to pick them up and indeed lure young people and exploit them in criminal acts.”
