NBA star gets sickening elbow to the face and ends up spitting up blood on court

Milwaukee Bucks star Khris Middleton was left spitting up blood after an accidental elbow to the face from Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown floored the NBA All-Star.

The Bucks and Celtics, two of the perennial Eastern conference heavyweights, squared off against each other on Thursday night at Fiserv Forum, in a game that saw Boston run out comfortable 140-99 winners.

Midway through the third quarter with the Bucks trailing 87-53, Brown went up for a lay-up that was contested by Middleton.

And for his troubles, Middleton received a nasty accidental elbow to the face, which left him sprawled out on the floor spitting up blood looking visibly in pain.

So bad was the blow, it forced Middleton to miss the remainder of the game, with the 31-year-old needing stitches for his upper lip.

And after losing him, life for the Bucks did not get any easier, with the Celtics ultimately running out comfortable winners on the night.

It was a nasty blow!

While former NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo managed to score 24 points for Milwaukee, he could not match the offensive firepower of the Celtics.

Marcus Smart, Malcolm Brogdon and Al Horford all recorded double digit scores, while Brown and All-Star Jayson Tatum combined for 70 points, scoring 30 and 40 points respectively.

With only a handful of games left in the NBA regular season, the Bucks loss to the Celtics could come back to bite them if it sends them into a slump ahead of the playoffs.

Mike Budenholzer’s side currently hold the number one seed in the Eastern Conference, and have a two game lead over the Celtics who sit second.
