WWE WrestleMania 39: All you need to know as Cody Rhodes goes for glory in California
After months of anticipation, WWE finally sends WrestleMania back to Hollywood for a two-night extravaganza this weekend.
WWE have been ramping up the buzz to WrestleMania 39 since Royal Rumble back in January, and fans have just days to wait until the madness kicks off in California.
To date, 13 blockbuster matches have been announced for the two-night affair, as all the top male and female championships are put on the line.

A mammoth aggregate crowd is expected at SoFi Stadium, many anticipating Sunday’s headline crunch clash between Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes.
There are many other must-watch bouts besides – not to mention all the other WrestleMania events taking place throughout the weekend.

When is WrestleMania 39?
Dubbed as WrestleMania Goes Hollywood by WWE, the 39th instalment of the sports entertainment giant’s biggest annual event will be held over the course of Saturday and Sunday this weekend, April 1st and 2nd respectively.

It airs live from the US, so fans in the UK will need to stay up late to take in the action as it happens, with each night kicking off at 1am, meaning the final moments of the two shows won’t air start the early hours of Sunday morning, 2nd April and Monday morning, 3rd April respectively.
Where is WrestleMania 39 being held?
For the seventh time, WrestleMania this year takes place in California in the USA.
The show, hosted by The Miz, is to be staged at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the popular concert and sporting venue.
SoFi Stadium had originally been lined up to host WrestleMania 37, but this ended up being effectively deferred by a couple of years to allow Tampa Bay to host that instalment after initially missing out due to COVID-19 and the shut-down of live wrestling events.

Tickets are still available for anyone still looking to make a last-gasp dash to the States, but verified resale tickets on Ticketmaster will set you back between $200 and $3,200 each.
How can I watch WrestleMania 39 in the UK?
There are a couple of options. Fans can watch live on traditional pay per view by ordering the event via BT Sport – WWE’s official broadcast partner in the UK. WrestleMania 39 will be shown on BT Sport Box Office 2 and is available for the price of £19.95.
WWE Network, WWE’s own streaming subscription service, is also airing WrestleMania. A subscription costs £9.99 a month and you won’t need to pay extra to watch the event.
What are the WrestleMania main events?
Night One of WrestleMania on Saturday is rumoured to be headlined by the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley, but WWE haven’t confirmed this as of yet.
There was some confusion on social media after a match graphic shared by WWE led fans to think John Cena’s challenge to Austin Theory’s United States title would main event the evening, but this bout had already been confirmed as opening the show.

Night two of WrestleMania on Sunday (or Monday morning if you’re keeping score, UK fans) will certainly be the meeting between Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns for Reigns’ Undisputed Universal Championship.
What else is happening this weekend?
It’s one of the most exciting weeks of the WWE calendar, and it’s packed with shows and events, starting with Friday Night SmackDown which features the coveted Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal. That airs as usual in the UK on BT Sport during the early hours of Saturday.
Just after SmackDown goes off the air, WWE Network will air the 2023 Hall of Fame ceremony from the same venue as Rey Mysterio headlines the latest class of inductees.
Saturday sees NXT Stand and Deliver, broadcast on WWE Network from 6pm and hosted by the UK’s own Pretty Deadly.
After the two nights of WrestleMania shows, the ‘Raw After Mania’, Monday Night Raw will air on BT Sport in the early hours of Tuesday, 4th April where more thrills and spills are expected.
