Erling Haaland misses Liverpool clash as Man City striker fails to recover for huge match
Erling Haaland will play no part in Manchester City’s Premier League clash against Liverpool having failed to recover from a knock.
The 22-year-old played no part for Norway during the international break with Pep Guardiola saying it would be a late decision to decide if he could return at the Etihad.
Haaland was then left out of the squad entirely for the crunch fixture, with City looking to close the gap on Arsenal to five points at the top of the table.

Haaland picked up a groin issue during the 6-0 FA Cup win over Burnley in which he scored his sixth hat-trick of the season, before the break.
Having joined up with the Norway squad, Haaland was sent back to Manchester after being assessed by the national team’s medical staff.
Haaland will not be able to add to the 42 goals he has scored in all competitions this weekend, despite travelling to Barcelona to have the injury assessed by medics.

Guardiola said on BT Sport before the game: “He is not fit.
“He doesn’t feel proper. It is not a big issue but today he was not right.”
Twitter went wild after seeing Guardiola’s team selection, with fans of City and fantasy football users particularly upset.

One fan said: “Haaland isn’t even on the bench, i’m going to start a r!0t oh my god.”
A second added: “Haaland about to mess up my FPL! I hate you Pep Guardiola!”
One fan then joked: “Imagine if Haaland not being in the squad is a Pep Guardiola April Fool’s prank, and he starts and scores a hat trick.”
