David Haye forced to ditch supercar and take DLR to Anthony Joshua fight with girlfriend

David Haye had to trade in his Rolls Royce for the London Underground as he made his way across the capital in a bid to see Anthony Joshua in action.

The former unified cruiserweight world champion and WBA heavyweight king flew back from holiday with partner Sian Rose before meeting up with son Cassius.

Having made a dash across London using the DLR and Jubilee line on Saturday evening (April 1), his Instagram story documented the rush, which he likened to a scene from Guy Ritchie’s 2000 film Snatch.

Having spent a final night in Costa Rica on Friday, Haye and his family even chuckled at sleeping security guards at San Jose airport while waiting with rapper Dizzee Rascal.

After filming a clip with son Cassius, Haye later explained he had to ditch his car due to the closure of the Blackwall Tunnel, having waited in an hour of traffic.

Having jumped to West Ferry DLR station, they made their way to the Jubilee Line and then to North Greenwich Underground Station – walking to The O2.

Haye said: “Determined not to miss this fight, by hook or by crook, we’ll get there.”

A final update came from inside the sold out O2 Arena, posing with partner Sian ringside as they watched Joshua get back to winning ways by unanimous decision.

Sian also shared some of Haye’s clips on her own social media account, as well as a video of the fight it’s self from right beside the ropes.

Haye and Sian have been in the headlines of late having split from a ‘throuple’ that is thought to have included The Saturday’s singer Una Healy, having posed as a trio in recent snaps.

The former boxer said at the time in a chat with Pro Boxing Fans: “I let people in through my social media a little bit, but what I do behind closed doors is between me and the girls involved. So yeah, I don’t really want to go into all that.”

In the ring, with Joshua seeing off the threat of Jermaine Franklin over 12 rounds, he called out both Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder having pledged to retire in defeat.
