Football fans gutted as Millwall miss out on Premier League shot after blowing 3-1 lead

Millwall have spectacularly blown their spot in the Championship play-offs – after they saw their 3-1 lead go up in smoke against Blackburn Rovers.

The Lions were cruising to sixth-place – and a shot at a debut season in the Premier League – as they took on fellow play-off hopefuls Blackburn. And Millwall looked to have the final spot wrapped up as they flew into an early lead.

But Ben Brereton Diaz had other ideas when he bagged a brace, sending Blackburn into a 4-3 lead. Rovers were also in play-off contention themselves, but their goal difference saw them miss out to Sunderland – who took advantage of Millwall’s collapse.

“How could Millwall f*** that up so badly man, really wanted them back in the Prem as well,” a fourth fumed. And another added: “Millwall must be allergic to the Premier League…”
