Girl, 11, is sexually assaulted on theme park ride: Police arrest man, 57, over incident at popular seaside resort

An 11-year-old girl has been allegedly sexually assaulted at a seafront theme park ride at an amusement park.
The alleged incident took place at Adventure Island in Southend on Thursday afternoon.
Police rushed to the scene and a 57-year-old man was arrested at the theme park.
The man has since been bailed while Essex Police investigate the alleged incident further.
Officers said the young girl was receiving support from specialists.

The alarm was sounded when she told members of her group that the man had touched her inappropriately while on the ride, The Sun reported.
A spokesperson for Essex Police said: ‘Investigating officers from Southend Criminal Investigation Department have arrested a 57-year-old man from Chelmsford in connection with this investigation.
‘He has since been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
‘We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this assault or have any further information to contact us.’
