Man Utd fans ‘in tears’ over City’s Treble and moan ‘we’re five years behind’

Many Manchester United fans were left gutted after their rivals Manchester City matched their Treble achievement.

Pep Guardiola‘s side became only the second side in English football history to win a continental treble by beating Inter Milan 1-0 in the Champions League final last night (June 10), following in the 1999 footsteps of their neighbours.

While lots of United supporters refused to recognise it as an equally impressive feat, others couldn’t hide their disappointment on social media. One tweeted: “Can’t bear to watch, I’ll just cry at the new Avatar film instead.”

“We can’t take it anymore. We’re fed up, we need change to stop City,” bemoaned a second, with a third fuming: “Glazers took our club! They are responsible for our failures in the last 15 years.”

A fourth argued: “Manchester United are at least five years behind City, haven’t won it for 10 years now already, it’s beyond sad for us.”

And a fifth wrote: “We can all claim that City has 115 charges but then it’s not on the players or Pep. They have come and won the titles fair and square.

“Whatever happens in the background is not on the players. But for United, everything from the owners to players on field has gone wrong.”

Is City’s Treble more or less impressive than United’s? Let us know in the comments section.

Others were still having none of it, though. “We might not be the only after tonight. But we will always be the first,” defiantly commented one, with another echoing: “We remain the first to ever do it.”
