Ally McCoist ‘wouldn’t let daughter anywhere near’ Man City star Jack Grealish

Ally McCoist has doubled down on his Jack Grealish stance – insisting he still wouldn’t let the Manchester City star “anywhere near his daughters”.

Pundit McCoist joked during the Qatar World Cup that he’d happily have Grealish’s England team-mate Jude Bellingham as a son-in-law, but wouldn’t give him a shot if he had five daughters instead of his five sons.

And he’s not changed his mind after seeing Grealish – who’s in a relationship with long-term girlfriend Sasha Attwood – lead the City celebrations for their Champions League triumph and Treble achievement.

McCoist did sing his praises on talkSPORT, saying: “I think he’s a breath of fresh air. The way he talks to people, the way you see him in the press.

“More importantly, and it is more importantly, the way you see him with the fans. He does a lot of stuff with people not as fortunate as ourselves and I think he really is relatable. He’s one of these boys who I actually really want to see doing well.

“He’s got a good manner about him, I made the comment at the World Cup regarding Jude Bellingham. I said I have five sons, if I had five daughters I’d let Jude Bellingham take them all out, I wouldn’t let Jack Grealish near any of them.”

McCoist’s co-host Laura Woods then asked: “Have you changed your mind now he’s a treble winner? Are you going to take it back Ally?”

He hilariously replied: “No, I’d actually put another lock on the pad that I would keep them in. But he’s great. I really enjoy him as I say, he’s a good watch when he plays and he’s a good listen.”

McCoist originally said last December: “With the greatest of respect, I wouldn’t let wee Jack Grealish near my granny. Jude, to be be fair, I’d let him take my five daughters out.

“I love wee Jack but he’s just too mischievous. Do you know what I mean? I’d let Jude take my daughters out if I had any.”
