Denver Nuggets star has street beer-guzzling contest with fan – and smashes it

Denver Nuggets star Kentavious Caldwell-Pope claimed his second major victory in three days – crushing a fan in a beer chugging contest.

While Nikola Jokic stole all the headlines, KCP still helped himself to 11 points, two assists and four rebounds against the Miami Heat. He has now won two NBA titles having triumphed in 2021 as part of the Los Angeles Lakers.

However, his victory with the fourth team of his career may be the most significant as it was the Nuggets’ first ever NBA triumph. While celebrating the enormous victory with his fans and team-mates at the parade, KCP was issued a challenge by a fan at the side of the road.

Like always, he did not disappoint.

Caldwell-Pope made a beeline towards the supporter who had a can of beer waiting for him. After strutting over to the side of the road, he whipped the can from his hand and made a very silent challenge.

While the fan flipped the can into his mouth and spilled most of it in the process, KCP did not spill a single drop. Every fan within their vicinity whipped out their camera phones and watched in amazement as the beer trickled down KCP’s throat like it was water.

After the 30-year-old sunk his beer like the two-time champion he is, he crushed the can in his hand and showed it off to the fans. Meanwhile, his challenger was struggling to get the rest of his beer down his own gullet.

It was another seismic victory for the forward who roared to the crowd, before scampering back to his team’s celebrations. And the rest of the NBA world absolutely loved his big victory.

“I think I’ve seen him chug five beers today! He’s a wild man,” one fan wrote on social media. “This is what the parade is all about,” another admirer commented.

“Ok KCP is officially in my top 5 favourite players ever,” a third tweeted. “That’s an All-NBA chug by KCP Like a damn magic trick.”
