Women thirsting over single fathers as trend branded ‘hot dad summer’

It may be your time to shine in the dating pool if you’re a single dad.

That’s because there is a new trend around of women thirsting over unattached fathers – with the craze dubbed ‘hot dad summer’ by experts.

Lauren Corbett, 31, is one such lady who has hopped aboard the trend, with her labelling herself a ‘Dadvocate’ online.

She believes single fathers have “unlocked the most carnal biological nature to protect that a man can unlock,” which women “can smell”.

Talking to New York Post, Lauren said: “Dads are so attractive to young, single women because, at the end of the day, most women want a man who holds all of the characteristics of a good father anyway, so getting to see him in action is like having a cheat sheet into that side of him.”

She also added that these guys “tend to be kinder” and “more disciplined”.

Meanwhile, Kasey Moore, 31, met her beau, Ryan, 32, in 2021. At the time, he was a single father and Moore, childless, having just reentered the dating scene after a two-year break.

Kasey told The Post that Ryan being a single dad made him more attractive to her.

“Learning about his role as a dad, particularly being the primary caregiver, piqued my curiosity,” she said.

“It inspired me to forge a deeper connection with him because I was interested in hearing his story. Turns out he’s an incredible father and partner.”

She also admitted that witnessing Ryan as a caring father ‘healed her inner child’.

A new survey also revealed 60% of women are open to dating single dads.

According to Dating.com, 62% of respondents admit they prefer dating single parents because they have a “stronger commitment to family, friends and loved ones”.

Talking on the trend, Maria Sullivan, a dating expert and vice president of Dating.com, said: “While a ‘single dad’ used to be a type to avoid in dating, this has changed in a chaotic and uncertain world.

“More women are less willing to put up with indecisiveness, uncertainty and immaturity.

“They’re increasingly interested in stability, and in the heightened levels of maturity and responsibility that naturally come with many single fathers and parents.”

Online, TikTokers are also known to ogle over single dads online – with the #singledad hashtag racking up 270million views on the app.

Seems like single dads are going to have one long hot summer ahead of them!
