During a Liga MX conflict between Queretaro and Atlas, Omar Mendoza thought he had acquired away with a cheeky technique of winding up his opponent, Juan Zapata.

Zapata was shielding the ball on the midway line, when Queretaro defender Medoza employed the distinctive tactic to win the ball. The incident was initially missed – earlier than VAR intervened, sending referee Fernando Hernández to the pitchside monitor.

“Absolutely disgusting, hope he’s given a long ban,” a fourth stated. And one other added: “Can’t believe someone would do this and then have the audacity to try and play dumb and act innocent!”

However, Mendoza’s behaviour was defender by Willer Ditta, who additionally performs in Liga MX for Cruz Azul.
