Steven Spielberg and his wife Kate Capshaw have taken the Hollywood legend’s $250million yacht to the Italian Riviera.

In exclusive pictures obtained by MailOnline, the film director, 76, beamed as he arrived in the picturesque former fishing village of Portofino holding hands with retired American actress Capshaw, 69.

The port town, with an off-season population of just 355, has come to epitomise Mediterranean glamour, becoming a sanctum for the rich and famous.

Spielberg’s 357ft superyacht, which was built in the Netherlands by luxury firm Oceanco last year, can carry 14 guests in its seven cabins as well as 30 staff across another 15 cabins.

Spielberg has called the yacht Seven Seas after he sold his decade-old 282ft yacht with the same name in 2021.

The award-winning director, who was dressed in a smart grey jacket, denim jeans with a cream fedora, looked relaxed as he and his wife entertained friends on the enormous superyacht.

The film director beamed as he walked through the streets of Portofino, a former fishing harbour, holding hands with retired American actress Capshaw

The director of the film smiled brightly as he strolled down the streets of Portofino, a once bustling fishing port, while affectionately holding hands with Capshaw, a retired American actress.

The yacht, created by Sinon Yacht Architecture & Design, features a spacious pool at the back and a deck spa pool. There have been rumors that it may also include a helipad at the front.

According to Robb Report, the vessel is equipped with two MTU 20V 4000 M73L diesel engines, each capable of generating 4,813 HP. These engines enable the vessel to reach a speed of 20 knots.

Spielberg, who was spotted watching Oppenheimer with Beatles legend Paul McCartney in late July, and his wife then took a leisurely amble around the port town where super-yachts bob in the marina.

Kris Jenner, aged 67, along with her partner Corey Gamble, aged 42, have been seen in Portofino this summer. Similarly, Elon Musk and Grimes, who have had an on-and-off relationship, have also been spotted there.

Spielgberg’s arrival in Italy co-incides with the Venice Film Festival on the opposite side of the country’s coastline. Last night, all eyes were on Bradley Cooper’s film Maestro, which Hollywood heavyweights Spielberg and Martin Scorsese also produced.

Cooper, who portrays the late composer Leonard Bernstein in the film, was noticeably missing from the Venice Lido where the festival is taking place. Many members of Hollywood are avoiding the red carpet due to the ongoing strike action by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA. Maestro is produced by Netflix, a company currently affected by the strike.

Last month, a representative of the festival affirmed that he would not be present as a show of support for the strike organized by the actors union SAG-AFTRA.

The upcoming 2023 Venice Film Festival is expected to be a more subdued event compared to previous years, as many Hollywood figures choose not to attend due to concerns about violating the strikes.

The glitzy Italian event kicked off on Wednesday, and usually sees some of Hollywood’s biggest stars grace the red carpet to promote their work.

This year, only a few independent productions have been granted permission for their stars to promote them. Venice has recently announced that Adam Driver and Jessica Chastain will still be attending the festival.

Cooper’s film Maestro found itself at the centre of controversy ahead of its premiere in Venice.

After the release of a trailer and promotional images, many prominent members of the Jewish community strongly criticized the portrayal, accusing Cooper of engaging in ‘Jewface’.

I apologize for any distress caused by the makeup artist responsible for creating Cooper’s nose, as stated on Friday.

Double Oscar winner Kazu Hiro, who previously transformed Gary Oldman into Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour, said of the storm: ‘I wasn’t expecting that to happen. I feel sorry that I hurt some people’s feelings.’

He stated: ‘Our objective, both mine and Bradley’s, was to depict Lenny in the most genuine way possible. Lenny had a highly recognizable appearance that is familiar to everyone – there are numerous photographs of him due to his photogenic nature – he was an exceptional individual who inspired countless individuals.

We also aimed to maintain the appearance internally. Therefore, we conducted numerous tests and made several decisions, resulting in the final outcome seen in the movie.

Bernstein’s children have supported Cooper’s decision to wear a prosthetic nose in the biographical film of the composer, stating that it is accurate as Bernstein did indeed have a prominent nose.
