Luis Rubiales has been instructed to increase the amount he pays for child support by two times.

Luis Rubiales, the head of Spanish football, has reportedly been instructed to increase his financial contributions for child support following a legal action initiated by his former spouse.

  • It is rumored that Rubiales’ former spouse requested a raise following an increase in Rubiales’ salary.
  • The Spanish FA chief is currently handling the consequences of the ‘Kissgate’ incident that occurred during the World Cup Final.

According to reports, the ex-wife of Luis Rubiales, the suspended chief of the Spanish FA, has taken him to court and allegedly obtained an order for him to raise his child support payments.

The man, who is 46 years old and has three children, is now receiving criticism for kissing World Cup-winning player Jenni Hermoso without her consent. It is reported that he had to pay twice the amount he originally gave because his income increased by ten times.

Spanish TV station La Sexta reported a court in the east coast city of Valencia had ordered Rubiales to up his payments for each of his daughters from 400 to 800 euros a month.

His ex, who has been described as a lawyer and named in Spain as Maria Manuela Delicado Vega, is said to have asked for a revision of Rubiales’ child support payments after the football chief’s annual net income jumped from 97,000 euros in 2011 to a massive 955,000 euros nine years later.

According to reports, Rubiales, who was earning a salary close to six figures in 2020, allegedly received only 26,600 euros as her net income.

FIFA’s disciplinary committee has imposed a 90-day ban on Rubiales (on the right) due to his actions after the Women’s World Cup final. This involved him kissing Hermoso on the lips.

The suspended FA chief, now a step closer to being prosecuted over the ‘unconsented’ kiss he gave World Cup winner Jenni Hermoso after she made a formal complaint, spoke about his daughters Lucia, Ana and Elena in a Spanish TV interview earlier this year.

He informed interviewer Risto Mejide that they possess great strength, surpassing his own.

He proceeded to characterize his oldest daughter as a student studying History of Art, stating: ‘She possesses a high level of sensitivity and a strong dedication to both herself and society.

The one in the middle resembles me the most, possibly being the most proactive among the three. Additionally, she possesses an incredible level of intelligence.

During the interview, he shared that one of his daughters had a near-death experience following a fall. The severity of her head injuries required medical professionals to perform a procedure involving drilling into her brain.

Last month, during a Spanish FA meeting, his three daughters, who are thought to be around 20, 17, and 15 years old, were present. Despite the ‘Kissgate’ scandal and his ex-hairdresser mother Angeles Bejar going on a short hunger strike in support of him, he repeatedly stated that he would not resign.

In the interview, Rubiales seemed to imply that he maintained a positive relationship with his former spouse, stating: ‘I believe we have consistently prioritized the well-being of our daughters.

I believe the marriage was not unsuccessful; we experienced a lot of happiness. However, as one progresses to a new stage in life, it is natural to move forward.

The reports about the increased child support payments, first published by respected media outlet El Periodico de España before La Sexta outlined more details from leaked court documents, state the decision was made by Valencia’s Provincial Court on June 19.

The decision pre-dated his suspension as Spanish FA president, which has led to him being deprived of his massive salary and other perks, and it is not yet clear what effect that may have on the amount he is expected to hand over in child support payments.

Rubiales’ former partner is reported to reside in a humble residence located in a small town near Valencia, along with at least one of her daughters.

Last month, she chose not to provide any comments to both Spanish and UK media following the occurrence of the ‘Kissgate’ scandal.

Rubiales has yet to provide an official statement.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that Jenni Hermoso had initiated the possibility of taking legal action against Rubiales by officially lodging a complaint against him regarding his well-known World Cup kiss.

Prosecutors had given her 15 days to accuse Rubiales of sexually assaulting her by kissing her on the lips without her consent after Spain’s Women’s World Cup victory over England last month.

Rubiales claims that the action, which he states was consensual and referred to as a ‘peck’, caused the Kissgate controversy. This controversy resulted in the dad-of-three being suspended by Fifa for 90 days, his pensioner mother going on a church hunger strike, and team manager Jorge Vilda being fired.

A judge from the Audiencia Nacional court in Madrid, Spain, would be responsible for carrying out the investigation and determining whether Rubiales should be charged. The judge would then invite prosecutors to bring charges against the suspended president of the Spanish FA.

That is because the kiss which has caused turmoil in Spanish football happened in Australia and other courts in Spain do not have the authority to act.

Last month, prosecutors reached an agreement to request Jenni Hermoso to officially submit a complaint against Rubiales.

The soccer player expressed that the kiss made her feel exposed and targeted as a victim of aggression. She characterized it as an unplanned, discriminatory gesture that was inappropriate and lacked her consent.

Luis Rubiales' mother Angeles Bejar has revealed he begged her to stop her hunger strike

Luis Rubiales’ mother, Angeles Bejar, disclosed that he pleaded with her to end her hunger strike.

Rubiales, who has apologised for grabbing his crotch during post-match celebrations in front of Spain’s Queen Letizia and her 16-year-old daughter, said in a lengthy statement last week: ‘The spontaneity and happiness of the historic moment led us to carry out a mutual and consensual act, a product of great enthusiasm.

There was never any aggression present, in fact, there wasn’t even a hint of discomfort. Instead, there was an abundance of joy experienced by both of us.

Last week, Rubiales’ mother, who is 72 years old, ended her hunger strike at a church in Motril, near Granada, after being taken to the hospital 48 hours into her demonstration.

She mentioned that she had initiated it in order to persuade Jenni, who has currently gone back to the Mexican city of Pachuca where she participates in club football, to be honest about the kiss.

Before falling ill, she expressed her desire for the truth to be revealed from within the church.

She is aware that my son is extremely truthful. If she speaks honestly, all the issues will be resolved.

She mentioned the incident of the World Cup kiss, which has caused the scandal known as ‘Kissgate’. She further stated that it started as a simple story, as she herself mentioned, but has now gained significant attention.

She ought to possess a moral compass and behave in alignment with it.

“My son is extremely concerned and has pleaded with me to cease, to halt, but I will persist until I am physically unable to continue any longer.”
