Plumb once weighed 35st and didn't leave the house for years after quitting his job at Pizza Hut for health reasons

After resigning from his job at Pizza Hut due to health concerns, Plumb, who used to weigh 35st, remained confined to his house for several years.

Plumb told the BBC programme: ‘The last time I went out unaided was 2014 – it was my parents’ wedding vow renewal.

I have experienced constant changes in my weight. At my highest, I weighed 35-and-a-half stone. It was during this period of weight gain that my mental well-being significantly deteriorated.

‘It’s a vicious circle. When I’m depressed, I eat – and when I eat, I’m depressed. For a long time, I found it difficult walking around. But getting to the point of not being able to go out, that really crept up on me.

I strongly dislike being indoors. I have a strong aversion to constantly seeing the same four walls. I am not satisfied with my current body size.

I am experiencing pain all over my body. I frequently experience chest pains, which have been attributed to my weight. I am afraid that if I eat or exert myself too much, it could have serious consequences for me.
