The kids who escaped from Ukraine… only to encounter Hamas rockets in Israel.

The Rabbi shares heartbreaking pictures of his grandchildren seeking shelter from both Russian and Hamas attacks, after escaping from Ukraine to Israel to avoid Putin’s missiles.

A series of poignant pictures, taken 19 months apart, were shared by a Rabbi from Ukraine. These images capture his young grandchildren seeking shelter from attacks carried out by Russian and Hamas forces.

He clarified that the kids had sought refuge in Israel to evade the missiles launched by Vladimir Putin towards civilian areas in Ukraine. However, they unexpectedly became involved in the ongoing conflict in Israel, which erupted after Hamas initiated an attack on Saturday.

Moshe Azman, the chief Rabbi of Ukraine who posted the images on Wednesday, said the pictures showed ‘shared pain and struggle’ in ‘two corners of the world’.

In the first picture, his three grandchildren were seen in a tiny room, the floor mostly taken up by two mattresses and a cot for the youngest child.

The second showed a similar scene: another small room, albeit with slightly more belongings, this time with at least five children lying on mattresses and in a cot.

The images were posted by Moshe Azman, the chief Rabbi of Ukraine, who described them as depicting a common experience of suffering and hardship in different parts of the world.

Azman shared the photographs with his 20,000 followers on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that in the first photo, his grandchildren were seeking shelter from the rockets launched by Russian terrorists in the Kyiv region during the initial days of the devastating invasion in Ukraine.

Afterwards, we relocated them to Israel and Europe along with a large number of individuals.

“In the second picture, we see the same individuals seeking shelter from the rockets launched by Hamas terrorists. Although they are in different parts of the world, they share a common experience of pain and hardship.”

He expressed his sadness when he sees these faces, but he remains hopeful that truth and faith will guide us during these challenging times.

I hope that the Almighty will unleash his wrath and fury upon those responsible for terrorizing innocent civilians.

In February 2022, Vladimir Putin commanded the invasion of Ukraine.

Since that time, his armed forces have initiated numerous missile attacks on Ukraine, causing extensive damage to civilian locations and resulting in the deaths of numerous innocent individuals.

Accusations have been made against Moscow’s forces for engaging in atrocious acts of war crimes, such as abducting, torturing, sexually assaulting, and killing Ukrainian individuals.

The actions of Hamas terrorists on Saturday have been similarly barbaric, with the terrorists deliberately targeting civilians of all ages.

Hundreds of Hamas militants attacked Israel from around 6.30 am, the Jewish holiday of Simchat Torah, in an assault that came 50 years and a day after the outbreak of the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.

The Islamists supported by Iran launched numerous rockets from Gaza towards Israel and employed explosives and bulldozers to breach the security barrier surrounding the Palestinian enclave under blockade.

'It breaks my heart when I see these faces, but I believe that the light of truth and faith will see us through these trials,' Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Azman (pictured) wrote

Using motorbikes, pickup trucks, motorised gliders and speed boats, the militants streamed into Israel, targeting cities including Ashkelon, Ofakim and Sderot.

At a music festival near Kibbutz Reim, in close proximity to Gaza, numerous young Israelis and foreigners were targeted by the gunmen. The incident resulted in the death of approximately 270 individuals at the location.

Hamas militants also moved stealthily through urban areas, including small kibbutz communities, targeting and murdering individuals in their residences and vehicles.

Israel stated that approximately 150 individuals were taken as hostages. Among them are at least 11 Thais, two Mexicans, and an undisclosed number of Americans and Germans.

Israel has reported that 1,200 individuals who were not involved in any wrongdoing have been identified as deceased.

According to reports from witnesses at the scene, infants were discovered with their heads severed and their throats slashed, while certain individuals were found deceased with their hands bound behind them.

More casualties are expected in the ongoing conflict as additional bodies are discovered in Israel, and the Israeli military persists in attacking the Gaza Strip. Over 1,000 Palestinian civilians, including children, have already lost their lives in this tragic situation.

Defence Minister Yoav Gallant on Monday ordered a ‘complete siege’ of Gaza, meaning ‘no electricity, no food, no water, no gas’, in a move decried by the United Nations as a possible violation of international law.

The military has gathered a large number of soldiers and armored vehicles in close proximity to Gaza. Additionally, they have summoned 300,000 reserve personnel for a mission referred to as ‘Swords of Iron’.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a cautionary statement, stating that the ongoing military operation in his nation is just the beginning of a prolonged conflict. He has expressed determination to completely destroy Hamas’s hiding places in Gaza, which is a menacing threat that will undoubtedly unsettle the inhabitants of the region.

Today, Putin expressed that in the Israel-Hamas conflict, it is important to protect the vulnerable groups such as women, children, and the elderly, despite the actions of his soldiers in Ukraine.

Russian soldiers have shown little regard for the lives of any of these groups.

He expressed the importance of making efforts to decrease civilian casualties, particularly among women, children, and the elderly, in reference to Palestine and Israel.

If men choose to engage in conflict with each other, allow them to do so.

The OHCHR, the United Nations’ human rights organization, reports that since February 24, 2022, there have been over 27,000 civilian casualties in Ukraine due to Putin’s invasion, with 9,614 fatalities and 17,535 injuries.

Additionally, during his speech on Wednesday, Putin expressed that the conflict between Israel and Palestine stems from the inability to establish a Palestinian state and the mishandled attempts at mediation by the United States.

During a global energy forum held in Moscow, Putin criticized Washington for primarily concentrating on providing material incentives to the Palestinians instead of actively contributing to the establishment of a Palestinian state.

Putin stressed the urgency of promptly reaching a resolution, cautioning that the conflict could escalate and lead to severe repercussions.
