Barclays has resumed online services after experiencing a two-hour interruption.

  • The issues began around 12:07 BST and impacted users throughout the United Kingdom.

    According to Down Detector, the problems started at around 12:07 BST, and affected users across the UK. 

    Over 2,700 problems were recorded on the website.

    Out of the individuals who reported difficulties, 67 percent stated that the problem lied in mobile banking, whereas 31 percent mentioned facing issues with online banking.

    Meanwhile, two per cent said the problem was with their account balances.  

    It's one of the most popular banking apps across the UK, but it appeared that Barclays went down this afternoon.

    Barclays sent a tweet to verify the occurrence of the outage.

    I apologize for any inconvenience caused if you are currently experiencing difficulties accessing our app or Online Banking. Rest assured, we are actively working on resolving this issue and will provide updates as soon as they become available.

    ‘For now, you can continue to utilize our automated telephone service without any changes.’

    The bank has officially stated that the problem has been resolved.

    “We appreciate your patience as we resolved some technical difficulties,” the tweet stated.

    You can now access your app or Online Banking as usual. We apologize for the extended time it took to resolve the problem. Your patience is greatly appreciated.

    Barclays has tweeted to confirm the outage. It wrote: 'If you're having problems logging into our app or Online Banking right now - we're sorry. 'We're working to fix this and will update you here as soon as possible
