Six French airports have been evacuated over suspected ‘bomb threats’ on the same day a synagogue in Berlin was firebombed, as Europe remains on high alert after two people were killed in Brussels by an ISIS fanatic in the wake of Hamas attacks. 

According to French media, bomb threats were reported this morning at the airports in Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Nice, Toulouse, and Beauvais. As a result, the airports have been evacuated.

Security services are on site at Lille after anonymous threats were reportedly received by email just after ten this morning, while the alert at Nice is reported to have ended.

France is currently on the highest state of counter-terrorism alert after a teacher was fatally stabbed at a school in Arras on Friday, with the site then evacuated due to a bomb threat on Monday.

It comes as a Berlin synagogue was attacked with Molotov cocktails early this morning amid an increase in antisemitic incidents in the German capital following the escalating violence in the Middle East.

The community of Kahal Adass Jisroel reported that their synagogue in the Mitte area of the city was targeted with two incendiary devices. The incident has been confirmed by the police.

Dozens of police officers were investigating and providing security in front of the synagogue on Wednesday morning.

The entire road adjacent to the structure was barricaded and inaccessible to vehicles.

The primary Jewish organization in Germany stated that there were two individuals involved in the assault, but no additional information was provided.

The statement from the Central Council of Jews expressed shock over the terrorist attack.

The families residing near the synagogue are primarily disturbed and disturbed above all. Actions are being taken instead of just words. The impact of Hamas’ belief in eradicating anything related to Judaism is also being felt in Germany.

The Kahal Adass Jisroel community in Berlin has a building complex that includes a synagogue, a nursery school, a yeshiva school, and a community center.

The police reported that there were clashes during the night between Muslim immigrants and law enforcement in the Neukoelln and Kreuzberg areas of the city, as well as at Berlin’s famous Brandenburg Gate. A number of officers sustained injuries during these incidents.

After the attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7 and the resulting conflict in Gaza, the security measures for Jewish establishments in Berlin and throughout Germany have been heightened by the police.

However, the Israeli flags displayed in front of city halls nationwide as a symbol of unity have been removed and set on fire.

The doors and walls of various buildings in Berlin where Jewish people reside were adorned with the Star of David symbol.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz strongly condemned the synagogue attack on Wednesday, saying: ‘We will never accept when attacks are carried out against Jewish institutions.’

During his visit to Egypt, he addressed the press, stating that Germany will not tolerate violent and anti-Semitic demonstrations. Moreover, he mentioned that there will be an additional boost in safeguarding Jewish establishments.

He expressed personal outrage at the actions and words of some individuals, and firmly believed that the citizens of Germany share his viewpoint.

He further stated that we are united in our commitment to protect Jews.
